CHILD OF PANOPTES embody the psychedelic era of the late 60’s and early 70’s embracing British freakbeat, popsike and American garage-psych-rock. Their first album has an all French line up from the 60s revival scene: Fausta Canals; Laure Garitte (LES TIKIS); Frank Durban, Michel Negre, Fred Martinez (LES PLAYBOYS); Alain Jullian (LE CHIFFRE ORGAN-IZATION); Alexandre Besson, Alain Chapot (THE GENTLEMEN’S AGREEMENTS, LE CHIFFRE ORGAN-IZATION, PENELOPE), Eric Pouchet and Arthur de Cossette. Covered in beautiful psychedelic coverartwork by Vangogo, the album includes other-worldly coverversions of songs by THE VIPPS, APPLE, THE CLOUDS, THE FAIRYTALES and ELIAS RAHBANI alongside the musicians’ own compositions. Subtle jazzy elements combined with a groovy Hammond organ, dreamy reverbing vocals and a cool beat create a dreamlike, slightly sinister, yet catchy psychedelic 60’s mood.
