BEEBE GALLINI – Begged, Borrowed and Stealed (SFR-154)
Upon seeing an all-star frat band led by Deke Dickerson of The Untamed Youth, Miss Georgia Peach set out to start her own girls-in-the-garage party band in the Twin Cities, Minnesota. Thus, Beebe Gallini was born!
The original all-female lineup featured Sally Sweet from Minneapolis garage bands The Cavegurls and The Blue Up. Over time, the band evolved into a mixed group of men and women and released a 45 on Ramo Records. This caught the attention of Boston label Rum Bar Records, who later released Beebe Gallini’s Pandemos — a collection of material created during the worldwide pandemic, featuring garage nuggets, a 60’s Bee Gees cover, and original tracks.
For their next project, producer and drummer Travis Ramin took the group into the legendary Kay Bank Studio in Minneapolis — a place steeped in musical history where classics like Dave Dudley’s Six Days on the Road, The Fendermen’s Muleskinner Blues, and The Trashmen’s iconic Surfin’ Bird were recorded. Even The Guess Who recorded there early on and chose their name inside that very building.
Travis’ idea was to re-record some Minnesota garage classics originally made in that studio, inviting some garage rock friends along for the ride.

Run Run Run by The Gestures and Why by The Accents feature Keith Patterson (formerly of The Funseekers, The Spectors, and The Conquerors) on lead guitar.

I Believe by The High Spirits includes a killer organ solo from Melanie Vammen (The Pandoras).

Cry Girl by The Kan-Dels has Russell Quan (The Mummies, The Flakes, Dukes of Hamburg) handling lead vocals.
The session was so successful it expanded into a full-length album — Begged, Borrowed and Stealed — branching out beyond Minnesota with covers of Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich, Otis Redding, Beebe’s own originals, and more!
Recording in such a sacred space made for a special rock and roll party album, featuring artwork by the legendary Cliff Mott.
